[Important] Mixing Requirements
To make giant, long-lasting bubbles, use only:
- Fairy Platinum Antibacterial Washing Up Liquid (Blue or Green)
- Fairy Max Power Antibacterial Washing Up Liquid (Blue or Green)
- Dawn Platinum (Blue)
Other brands or scented liquids won’t work because they don’t contain the correct surfactants. That’s not us being fussy — it’s chemistry. Using anything else will result in smaller, weaker, disappointing bubbles.

I bought this to try as an alternative to another well known brand of giant bubble mix as works out so much cheaper per litre, so less of an issue if the children pour half of it on the grass! I’m pleased to say it works really well (as well if not better than the previous more expensive mix we’ve used) both with our giant bubble ropes, giant bubble wand and normal size bubble wands. So now I can just buy one mixture which works for everything. Even better is buying in powdered form hugely reduces plastic packaging waste as I just use some old bubble mix bottles to store it in. Much better than buying a new plastic bottle every time we need more bubbles. I’m definitely converted and will be buying more!

Hi, thanks so much for the lovely review! 😊 I think the reason the bubbles might not have lasted as long could be down to the heatwave we’re having in the UK right now – bubbles evaporate much faster in hot, dry weather. In cooler, mild and more humid conditions, they last a lot longer. I had an event today in this heat and noticed the same thing – they just weren’t hanging around like usual. Some people suggest adding more water to the mix, or dipping the wand in water in-between dips, but honestly, I think we’re the only ones who notice. The kids are still completely captivated, and the bubbles still look amazing. No matter which mixture you use, dry weather will always cause them to pop quicker. 😁
