What Mentoring Actually Looks Like

Your hours are yours to use however they are most useful to you. People use them for all sorts of things:

• Zoom calls – one to one, camera on, working through whatever is in front of you right now
• Watching your show back – send us a video of a real booking and we will tell you honestly what is working and what to change
• Practice feedback – film yourself trying a trick at home and we will spot what is going wrong faster than you will
• Your prices and your wording – what to charge, how to answer an enquiry, what to say to a customer who wants it cheaper
• Your website, your photos, your social media – send them over and we will go through them with you
• Real-world knowledge – of performing, running bookings, working with clients and building an entertainment business.
• Kit and solution problems – what to buy, what not to waste money on, and why your mix is not behaving
• Practising one trick properly – a whole hour on a single thing, with somebody watching who can see what your hands are doing
• Messages in between – a chat you can drop a question into without waiting for your next call

And there is something that matters as much as any of it. An hour in the diary is an hour you actually spend on your business and on getting better, instead of it vanishing the way it does when nothing is booked and nobody is expecting you. For a lot of people that turns out to be the real value of mentoring: time set aside, and someone ready to work with you.

How Your Hours Work

• You get instant access to the online course, and your mentoring hours to use alongside it
• Hours are booked with us as and when you want them, usually about one a month
• An hour can be split into two half hours if that suits you better
• If you would rather get it all done quickly instead of spreading it out, that is fine too
• You can have your sessions with Cheryl, with Caroline, or a mix of both

Your Mentors

Cheryl Holley, also known as Holly Pop

Cheryl has been performing bubble and balloon entertainment since 2005, working at birthday parties, schools, fetes, family attractions and events across Gloucestershire and beyond.

She runs Bubbly Heaven, creates the online training courses and sells professional bubble equipment, so she understands both sides of the industry — what works in front of a crowd and what it takes to turn those skills into a business that actually pays.

Cheryl also founded Little Party Heaven, an entertainment agency where she also works as a face painter, balloon modeller and bubble entertainer. With more than 20 years of hands-on experience, she will bring you real-world knowledge of performing, running bookings, working with clients and building an entertainment business.

Caroline Ainslie, also known as Bubblz

Caroline has been performing bubble shows since 2005 and teaching other people with Cheryl since 2017, and between them they worked out the professional bubble formula that Bubbly Heaven is built on. They are both professional bubbleologists and AOIBA members.

Caroline also founded Bubbly Maths back in 2005, and still runs it: maths and science shows and workshops that go into primary schools, SEND schools and festivals, built around giant bubbles and balloon geometry. She was an electronic engineer in her previous life. If you are looking for educational workshops and shows then Caroline has been doing that for 21 years.

It is not for you if you want us to hand you a business. We will tell you exactly what we do and why, but you have to go and do it.

Questions People Ask

Do I have to use an hour every month?

No. An hour a month is the rhythm most people settle into, but you can space them out or use several close together. They just need using inside the six or twelve months.

What if I cannot make a booked session?

Let us know in good time and we will move it. If you simply do not turn up, that hour is gone, because the time was held for you.

Can I do this if I am nowhere near you?

Yes. Mentoring is by Zoom and messages, so it works wherever you are.

Is this the same as your in-person training days?

No. Our in-person training days are hands-on, with you and us in a hall together for a day. Mentoring is ongoing support over months, done remotely. Plenty of people do a training day first and then take mentoring to keep going afterwards.

Can I pay in instalments?

Ask us. Tell us what would work for you and we will see what we can do.
