Why Bubbly Heaven Is a Fire-Free Zone

At Bubbly Heaven, we have made the personal decision to keep our shows completely fire-free.

Although fire bubbles can look impressive, we believe the risks outweigh the benefits—especially because much of our work involves performing directly with children. A fire bubble would only ever be a very small part of a show, so we have to ask: is that moment really worth the additional risk, equipment, training requirements, insurance costs, and safety considerations?

There are many performers who create fire bubbles extremely well and do so safely, with the correct training, preparation, equipment, and safety procedures in place.

However, I have also seen some very risky behaviour shared on social media. Unfortunately, people can sometimes copy what they see online without researching the risks, gaining proper training, or understanding the safety measures required behind these effects.

This is exactly why I have written this article—not to discourage skilled performers who choose to work with fire responsibly, but to help raise awareness, encourage proper training, and keep our bubble entertainment community and audiences safe.

There are many safer alternatives that offer incredible possibilities, such as fog bubbles and helium bubbles. These effects can create magical moments without introducing the hazards associated with fire. (Please note that helium use also requires appropriate safety knowledge and training.)

However, we recognise that some professional bubble entertainers do include fire effects in their performances. This page has been created not to encourage fire bubbles, but to help educate and support those who choose to explore this advanced technique responsibly—helping keep our entertainment community, performers, and audiences safe.

Fire Bubbles Are Not for Beginners

Due to the risks involved, we do not recommend fire bubbles for new or inexperienced bubble entertainers.

If you are an experienced performer who wishes to explore fire effects, we strongly recommend obtaining:

• Specialist fire or pyro safety training
• Appropriate public liability insurance coverage
• Advice from qualified professionals who regularly work with fire effects
• The correct safety equipment and procedures

A quick online search will help you find local fire safety and performance training providers. Some experienced bubble entertainers who use fire effects also offer specialist guidance and training. Never Copy What You See Online

If you see videos of performers creating flaming bubbles, placing fire effects near people’s hands, or performing similar tricks, please do not simply copy what you see.

Any professional fire artists we know are very clear about one thing: fire should never be brought close to members of the public. Fire performers work with strict safety distances and controlled performance areas, much like the safety zones used for fireworks displays. These distances exist for a reason—to protect both the performer and the audience.

What you see in an online video may not show the full safety setup behind the effect. It may not show:

• The specialist training behind the performance
• The preparation and risk assessments
• The safety equipment being used
• The controlled environment and safety distances
• The insurance requirements and permissions involved

Please never attempt to recreate a fire effect simply because you have seen it online. A short video clip rarely shows the planning, experience, and precautions required to perform safely.

Public liability insurance may not cover fire-based activities unless the performer has completed appropriate specialist training and can demonstrate suitable safety procedures.

Fire performers use dedicated safety equipment, protective measures, and carefully planned procedures. The exact requirements depend on the type of performance, location, and regulations involved.

Fire effects may look magical, but they are not a party trick. They are a specialist performance skill that requires training, preparation, and respect.

Respect Fire

Fire effects can be exciting and visually stunning, but they must always be treated with respect.

We are not here to discourage experienced professionals from learning and training safely. We simply want to ensure that anyone considering fire bubbles understands that this is an advanced performance skill—not a simple trick to recreate after watching a video.

Fire requires knowledge, preparation, and responsibility.

If you choose to play with fire, you must understand the risks—because eventually, fire will remind you why safety comes first.
