Getting Started with Indoor Bubble Making
Indoor bubble fun is magical! Whether you’re planning a show, workshop or interactive play, bubbles can bring endless joy indoors. Here’s everything you need to know to get started.
Indoor Bubble Activities to Try
1. Go Inside a Bubble
A favourite for all ages! Use a specially designed wand to create a giant bubble that surrounds kids (or adults). This activity is easy to set up and makes for unforgettable photos. Learn how to put kids inside a bubble here.
2. Bubble Magic Tricks
Add wow-factor with mesmerising tricks like:
- Hand bubbles (and holding bubbles without popping them).
- Smoke-filled bubbles for a magical twist.
- Bubble sculptures like caterpillars or carousels.
3. Bubble Art Painting
Create colourful bubble painting prints. Kids can blow bubbles onto paper to make stunning art they’ll want to keep!
4. Hands-on Indoor Bubble Workshop
This is hours of fun right here, this is a staple at my parties, schools and events. Kids are engaged and having fun while learning and playing with bubbles. The free indoor bubble workshop tutorial is a great place to start for fun bubble activities.

Indoor Bubble Set-Up Tips
Making bubbles indoors is different from outdoor bubble fun. You cannot make bubbles like you can outdoors, you need to carefully plan your activities, use different bubble wands and protect the floor. Here’s how to set up for success:
- Floor Protection: Use absorbent and waterproof backed mats to avoid mess and slippery spots when performing bubble shows and doing the kid in a bubble activity. Our favourite floor protection are these XL dog whelping mats.

- Towels: Keep a spare towels for quick emergency cleanups.
VERY IMPORTANT:
- Do not make bubbles indoors like you would outdoors, we do not make lots of endless bubbles for kids to run around pop indoors. The floor protection is not for the kids to run around on (this would be unsafe).
- Do not use tarps as floor coverings as these get very slippery.
Kid Control Tips
Indoor settings with bubbles can get lively and out of control very quickly, so it’s important to keep kids engaged, following instructions and safe:
- Use a Microphone: Grab their attention and keep instructions clear.
- Set Clear Rules: Explain the activities before starting, and withhold bubbles during explanations to avoid distractions.

Choosing the Best Bubble Liquid
The right bubble solution is key to successful indoor bubble making. Here’s what we recommend:
- 50/50 Fairy Liquid & Water Mix: Simple and effective for smaller bubbles.
- Uncle Bubble Concentrate: Perfect for “Go Inside a Bubble” activities, indoor tricks and essential for shows.
I do not recommend guar or j-lube based mixed for indoor bubble making. The gooey polymers cause the liquid to be drippy and slimy which is great for outdoor bubble making but not good for indoor bubbles. However Uncle Bubble uses a different polymer which is cleaner and really powerful for making giant bubbles indoors.
